How to convert HEIC to JPG for upload
A form wants JPG but your photos are HEIC? Convert HEIC to JPG in your browser, one photo or many, then download. Files never leave the device.
A portal or form asks for a JPG, and the photos you have are HEIC. Do not send a file the form will reject. Convert the photos in your browser: add them to the image converter, pick JPG as the output format, and download the results. You can add many photos at once, and the work happens on your device, so the files never leave it.
Steps
- Open the Image converter tool at
/tools/image-converter/. - Add your photos. Drop them on the page or tap to pick them. Mixed formats are fine, and each file can be up to 30 MB.
- Choose the output format: JPG, PNG, WebP or BMP. When you pick JPG or WebP, set the quality before you convert.
- Convert and download the results: each file on its own, or all of them as one ZIP.
Pick the output format you were asked for
The converter takes JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP and HEIC photos and writes them out as JPG, PNG, WebP or BMP. A HEIC photo comes out as a JPG without needing a second tool, and mixed batches are fine, so you can add a HEIC next to a JPG and convert them together. Check what the form asks for and pick that format exactly. When you choose JPG or WebP, the quality setting lets you decide how much compression the result gets. After the download, open one of the files once to confirm it came through the way you expected.
When the upload also has a size limit
Each photo can be up to 30 MB, which is room for most uploads. Converting changes the format, not a file size target, so if your form also states a size limit, check the size of the downloaded file. If it is over the limit, add the result to the image resizer at /tools/image-resizer/ and compress it toward a preset such as 100 KB or 200 KB. When you convert several photos, download them one by one or take the whole batch as one ZIP so none go missing. And if the form wants a single combined image instead of separate files, the combine images tool joins photos stacked, side by side or in a grid.
